Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) Community Immunity Bus at Children’s Day Celebration

Free Covid-19 and Booster Shots

Cleveland, OH - GCRTA in collaboration with the Cleveland Department of Public Health (CDPH), are providing free Covid-19 vaccinations and booster shots to the public during the Children’s Day Celebration on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

The GCRTA Community Immunity Bus will be parked at the Pivot Center of Art Dance & Expression, 2937 W.25th St., Cleveland, OH. 44113, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Medical staff from CDPH will be on the bus providing the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to adults and children at no charge.

All individuals ages 5 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine on the Community Immunity Bus. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian in order to receive the vaccine.

“This collaboration is a prime example of how health and human services can thrive when married with mobility and public transit," said Natoya Walker Minor, Deputy General Manager of External Affairs and Administration.  "We are excited to partner with Cleveland Playhouse and Comité Mexicano to bring this essential health resource to the community during the Children’s Day Celebration.”

“At the core of public health is equity and access, which is why partnerships like these are especially important,” said CDPH Director Brian Kimball. “We know that vaccination works, that it prevents serious illness and death from COVID-19, and we welcome the opportunity to continue collaboration with GCRTA in bringing this crucial resource to our residents.”

The RTA Community Immunity Bus is made possible by ODOT funding in effort to make the Covid-19 vaccine accessible to multiple communities in the greater Cleveland area.
